I recently received in a trade a 2008 Fender Custom Shop Esquire pickup (bridge pickup). Any idea what the Custom Shop was putting in Esquires in 2008? Is it a Nocaster pickup? It isn't the Billy Gibbons hum-cancelling thing, it is a single coil.... I don't think it is a 10k+ type pickup.... sounds kinda similar to the Alnico 3 7k type blackguard pickups I've heard....

At any rate it sounds real good.... just thought I'd see if anyone here has insight on it

Yeah, betcha a CS Nocaster (flatpole?) Next time you change strings, you can always pop off the bridge and take a look.

There's no markings on it. Flatpole yes, and reliced by the Custom Shop. Yellow & Black cloth wires. Looks like a zinc plated baseplate, which also points to being a Nocaster pickup
