Sounds like that power tube went bad. If you swap the 6v6's position, does the redplating follow the tube or the socket? If it follows the tube you know the tube is bad. If the redplating stays on that particular socket then you may be loosing bias voltage on that socket.

I'll try another known pair of good 6v6 tomorrow.
but first I'll check voltages on the pins.
Goofy thing sounded amazing for about ten minutes LOL

    Well...
My plate voltage is 454 volts !
My strongest rca 6v6 are at 24ma with the bias pot all the way down.

This is with the new 5v4ga rectifier

I'm replacing all of the filter caps including the 100UF 100 Volt Bias supply cap.
dropping R59 to 10K from 22K to expand the range and a few other touch ups to bring this 16 year old girl back to usefulness.
The transformers all seem to be within spec so...
I have a pair of JJ 6V6S just in case the plate voltage stays at 454 volts.

The bright cap was clipped and now will sport a 10PF silver mica cap.
I've done this before and it works wonders on the reverb channel
