I owned a 2000 American Series that was one of my favorite players, but unfortunately it was stolen in 2015. I have been looking for a replacement since then, but was unable to find "the right one". I found this bone stock, alder body, 2004 3 color sunburst yesterday and was able to bring it home for less than the low end of the VG price guide. After some cleaning and minor adjustments to the set up, I played it for two hours through a '65 Twin. (my neighbors said it sounded good) 😅 The resonace on this body unplugged is great, and plugged in the clarity and volume are intense. This one is a player for sure, and will be put in the rotation when we're performing.

Congrats, nice looking guitar! I believe the 2004 models have the same electronics as your 2000 Tele did so you should feel right at home. Enjoy!

I think you are correct. 2000-2005 are pretty much the same and all use the "Master Delta Tone" pots.

Congrats! Actually the American Series ran from the middle of 2000 through the end of 2007; aside from some color additions/subtractions along the way the specs were unchanged during the run.
