I've had one of those plastic cheap boss volume pedals for at least 5 years just throwing it in my bag not taking care of it at all before it broke, and only because i was stupid. I guess the expression version is just as good

    Haven't used the Boss.
I got an Ernie Ball VP JR 25k ohm for an expression pedal. A little smaller than the volume pedal that I had long ago but built like a tank. Works for volume pedal too, but better after a buffered pedal. Can't seem to leave it in my setup. One of those now and then pedals for me. But cool to have.

Someone (Mission?) makes a cool looking multi input exp pedal. Can control multiple effects, independent or simultaneously. But I veered off that path some.

    amico mio, grazie mille
have you ever tried to repair a ernie ball volume pedal when the string breaks ?
I had a room mate, the string on his broken , oy vey!
Shobel at Snobel tone has a kit for just that purpose or he did, the kit and the pedal as part of a package deal.
I really like his presenters style and how he goes about doing his thing
A guy a walks into a bar with a gorillia a tall belly dancer and and a bucket of fresh oysters ,..... have you heard this one?

I recommend looking into the Moog EP-3 or EHX expression pedal or EHX dual expression pedal. I've owned many expression pedals, BOSS, Morley, Behringer, and on and on....IMO they all have a flaw built somewhere within them except the MOOG and EHX options (but if you go with EHX don't get the Next Step version....get the regular treadle version!)
Congrats on your new toys and good luck with your expression search.
