Just got a E serial number Japanese Squire. When I pull the jack out of the socket the whole steel socket barrel set up pulls out of the guitar. The socket itself is screwed up nice and tight to the pressed steel.

Are they just InkedScreenshot 2020-10-20 123415_LI.jpg glued, screwed or pressed in?

+1. I had this issue on one of my Teles, went with an Electrosocket and couldn't be happier.
Should you go this way, and as this is a Fender Japan, be sure to order a metric sized Electrosocket (matching the asian, probably metric, output jack -that is assuming yours is stock). Or, best (IMO), change also the output jack for a good Swithcraft and pair it with an imperial sized Electrosocket.
