Hi all, this is my first post here.
Anyone knows any information about this specific Tele/finish?

I can't seem to find anything else online other than the above link about it...or maybe I don't know where to look. :)

thanks

They call it a refinish and I don't see anything saying Fender did it. They don't mention the belly cut at all, which wasn't original to a '74 Standard. The cut is more severe than on my '73 & '75 Deluxes, which did come from the factory with a belly cut. I think it's a well worn Tele with an altered refinished body and swapped pickup that happens to have hang tags. Case isn't original either.

What's this, a buncha clowns trying to sell modded and (sometimes grossly) overpriced '60s and '70s axes on the back of clichéd and shoddy copywriting containing no real factual information about the guitars themselves? I wouldn't touch ANY of that stuff with a ruddy bargepole myself.

Not even a photo of the neck code stamp. For that sort of money you’d expect a bit more detail.

Welcome aboard!
I don't know about this color scheme but I bet somebody here will.
Looks strange though. Like a normal 3TSB where they faded in the black
way too far and went "ooopsie". Then it got dirty(the green).

Since this is the vintage forum, thanks to the book "fender, the golden age 1946-1970", Fender did actually have a "greenburst" made, but not the one in this thread.

They were called "sparkle finishes" done on a custom basis in the late '50's and '60's. Part of hotrod craze, they sent a finished guitar to a local auto spray shop for a custom metal flake paint job. These were true one offs since the auto spray guys weren't usually guitar guys. Below is a page showing 3 Fenders with custom sparkle finishes and the one on the left being a '58 Jazzmaster with what was called a "Surfburst". The other 2 non-burst are '65 models, Jazzmaster and Jaguar. For Telecasters the silver sparkle ones Buck Owens and Don Rich played are the most famous. By the way, that's a Musicmaster on the far left with a "Tangerine" sparkle finish.

Another welcome to the OP, here is a real Fender "greenburst", just on a Jazzmaster. And they had to subcontract it.

I live a 2 minute walk from this seller. He is located in the basement of an office building which is a recording studio. I've therefore never seen any of the guitars in person. Neither would I want to particularly as all of their guitars are very overpriced and often inaccurately described.
