Did some trading today and ended up with this. I also ended up with a wah pedal, but it's tricky to use with a classical guitar.
I don't play classical music, but sometimes nylon strings have the right sound for a particular track. While I've dabbled with a crossover nylon-string guitar and a couple of ancient gut-strung parlors, this is the first guitar I've owned that really hits the nail on the head in terms of sound. It's punchy and bright, and if I'm still not a fan of wide necks, at least I can adjust to this one without much trouble.
Guild catalogued seven classical models, Mark I through VII. This is the IV, which is short for IntraVenous - in other words, you have to have music in your blood to play it. It sports a Sitka top and pearwood back, a mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, rosewood bridge, and engraved Kolb tuners. There's some finish checking on the back but that's the worst of it (though it does make the center seam look like a crack from a distance).
