Thinking of selling my 71 Tele with a factory Bigsby (no through body ferrels) . blonde.white, maple fret board. Any idea of price range I should ask for it ? I know this is a difficult if not impossible question to answer but a general idea where to start would be helpful. About 5 years ago they were in the $5k to 6K range.

No, not posting for sale here. It is for a private enquiry that may want to buy.

You're not really posting for sale here are you? If you are, pictures would help...
Posted some pictures. Hope this helps. Just looking for guidance on what would be a fair price range. When you search the net the variances are crazy, ask and get are not the same. The Bigsby seems to be a less common item in those years.

It looks to be in an exceptionally fine condition, so that should be taken into account.

In the graph '71 to '75 are lumped together but I think a '71 is considered somewhat more desirable than '75 (all other things equal)
I have read where 69-71 is also a grouping, but each guitar can be very to unique to itself.

Historical selling prices should not determine your asking price. The original Bigsby and guts (I assume) along with condition all contribute to its relative "rarity".

With no case, 4-bolt neck, great frets, original condition/guts, and factory Bigsby, I would lean more toward asking at least $6k. I personally would not sell it for under $5k. Deduct at least $500 for worn frets. Many luthiers will not do fret jobs on those, and those that will typically charge a premium - over $500. Has it ever had a fret job?

I really never played it much in the last 14 years, I never had a fret job done in that time, I don't have the knowledge to properly judge fret condition. The chord jack is not orginal, will have to look at the guts again (been 14 years)
