    Hey!

Isn't $2500 a pretty good price for a 1971 telecaster? Replaced pots and switch but otherwise original. Original hard case, sonic blue.

The extra string tree is not original.
IF (and it's a big if) the sonic blue finish is original the price is a steal.

The plastic washer under the neck plate doesn't seem original either?

I'm tempted because at that price it'll be gone soon if it's kosher. Neck plate bothers me though.

And tuners look off too. The washers are too big, almost covering part of the logo.

Plastic washer under beck plate, dual string trees and serial number all seem to indicate a slightly later model, 1973-1974?

Thanks! I'm fairly sure the one I'm looking at is also from around 74.

Can you post a picture of the upper bout- neck pocket? If it's 74 or later it won't have The Notch.

If I had to make a guess - refin 73+. It would be good to have a control panel shot. There really were few custom colour Teles in the 70s. Black, White and Sunburst with some Naturals. No-one was ordering standard Teles in funky colours.

Either way, $2500 is not too much. They ain't getting cheaper.....

Sorry, those are all the photos from the ad. I'll see if I can go look at it but no response from seller yet. Maybe he's swamped, up to his neck in mails :D

I saw that ad today also, but I am not really sure what to think about it.

    Lycka till

Yeah, me either. I'm only an hour away from it so I may go have a look. I think it's safe to say it's not a 1971, I'm guessing 73-74. Still a prett good price I think.

I heard back from the seller, I'm welcome to try it. He sais he's got a receipt from a (very well known) music store that it is a -71.

Cool guitar and a very good price. But again, 2 string trees came along in mid ‘72.

Yep, and the plastic washer and serial number both indicate 72-74 from what I can find. 2500 is still a good price though even it's not a steal.

What do you guys make of the price if it is a refinished 1973?
