Hey there all!
I currently have two newly acquired 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverbs. One date code is OG (July, 1965) and the other is OG (August, 1965). the OG DR has the standard, 1 Amp Slow-blo annotation on the rear faceplate with a matching fuse inside. The OH DR, however, has a sticker overtop of (what most likely) is the 1 numerical, and has a 2 posted. It is clearly a sticker, as it it slightly crooked and peeling up slightly.
Usually I would not be protruded by a sticker, as anyone could have added it. But the font seems oddly similar to the faceplate, and the placement leads me wondering if it was done at the factory. I have checked all of the Fender Deluxe Reverb AB763 schematics and they all show a fuse of 1 amp. My questions are:
1. Does anyone know any other instances of these "2" sticker modifications, or if it was done at the factory?
2. Is it safe to use a 2 amp fuse? (There currently was a 2 amp fuse)
I have attached photos of both Deluxe Reverb fuse mounts
. Thanks!
