1960 reissue

Picked this up a few months ago. Fairly light relic compared to its these days 58 hand wound pickups do sound great. Nice and light. Only odd things is Fenders decision to use raised ferrules.

Sweet guitar . Really nice finish and grain in wood. Raised ferrules? I’ve never seen that. I wonder if it’s possible they didn’t tap them in, and it slipped by qc.

Perfect! Blondes w. white guards rule in my book (as my #1 in avatar may suggest)!!! Although I tend to prefer maple, a rosewood fretboard looks killer with this finish... Damn, I may be GAS-ing for one now...

I’ve looked at other examples of the same model. Same ferrules used. Just an odd detail on a 1960 reissue but great guitar.

Fender started putting string ferrules that protrude from the back. Rediculous that they are not flush. I had the top of the ferrules ground down ever so slightly to be flush of a Fender body I purchased and didn't know its was done at the factory with the string hole not deep enough.
