Oh I understand it was for shipping. Awful nice job just for a shipping carton. I do remember when I traded the les paul in they did not want the case, even thou it could survive a fall down a flight of stairs. If I ever built another i would try the wood bend thing with thinner veneers, I would love to see a build thread on one of those. Really like that lp Jr. later,

    Hi Mister Lee,

Which truss rod are you using? I need to buy a couple.

I'd call it "High Praise" anytime a person who builds absolutely everything himself actually buys a factory Part.:)

    Regards,
    Bill

ScatterLeee .. another awesome build thread. You and the rest of the guys who did the $100 challenge last year are the reason that I joined this forum.
Now, a question... where did you get the hardware for the case? I'm looking for some latches for one I made a couple years ago that is similar. Getting tired of using Duct tape to hold it closed.

I'm trying out some stuff called african mahogany on this one, looks a little purple sometimes, kinda hard, smells good but not like honduran

and thats my old saw, took some time to get it cut out, hard stuff

put on the template and routed away, it was slow going even with a newer bit

came out nice, and kinda heavy

this is a jig i made to slash up the necks, i dont know how correct it is but this is how i make necks from 1" wood, they are very strong and dont break when they fall over

    slash

i think its about a 18 degree angle

then i slash the headstock part, this one is a little over 9/16"

    then glue it up

    that took all day,
