Gil do you know why is the fret's tang visible over the binding??

Is it just playing wear??

It didn't leave the factory that way. Looks like a refret to me.
Could also be a fingerboad and fret edge rounding of the original frets... who knows.
Without having it in hand it's hard to tell.

Thank you Ken. Stained, yes. All the SB ones I've seen were stained with dark brown. Have you seen any with sprayed sides?

My first Gibson was an ES 225 TD - a beautiful sunburst top and walnut? stained sides and back. That imprinted on me, and ever since, that is the way Gibs are supposed to look! And the curved pickguard, of course. Happy Boxing Day here in Canada...

Absolutely gorgeous! And it wouldn't look out of place on an ES-335 either! Although my favourite has even more brown.

Just sprayed a 3tsb Strat today and it reminded me your posted 335 (with a fresh non faded red of course) (-;
The outer halo on late 50's Strats is also about 50%/50% black/brown.

No, I was thinking last night I should save them but never got around to it.
