    It didn't leave the factory that way. Looks like a refret to me.
    Could also be a fingerboad and fret edge rounding of the original frets... who knows.
    Without having it in hand it's hard to tell.

    LOL... doing a refret and keeping the little nibs intact (without binding removal) is no walk in the park...

    Heh, no more sandwiches. Not since I moved the potting from the kitchen to the shop.

    Not in person. I have seen some 345's with bursted sides.

    I think they look the most natural, like this 150...

    My first Gibson was an ES 225 TD - a beautiful sunburst top and walnut? stained sides and back. That imprinted on me, and ever since, that is the way Gibs are supposed to look! And the curved pickguard, of course. Happy Boxing Day here in Canada...

    The pearly color scheme after the final old golden clear and retarder coat.

    Just sprayed a 3tsb Strat today and it reminded me your posted 335 (with a fresh non faded red of course) (-;
    The outer halo on late 50's Strats is also about 50%/50% black/brown.

    Hey Shepherd,
    Those nice photos are gone...
    Did you by any chance save them to disk?
    I'd like to have them for reference.

    No, I was thinking last night I should save them but never got around to it.
    If MRJ. doesnt have all of them try here http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/vintage-les-pauls/173949-some-people-take-care-their-stuff.html, I think nicolasrivera saved all of them.

    Here's an original '57 with great photos http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Original-Vintage-1957-Gibson-Les-Paul-Standard-Goldtop-Guitar-PAF-/360417343815?pt=Guitar&hash=item53ea8c3947
