    I read it cover to cover, couldn't put it down

    Gil, would a 1966 Tele differ substantially from this?

    When pin routing, the template is always attached to the opposite side.
    The template is attached to the back to be followed by the table pin while the cutter is routing from above.

    A '66 would have threaded steel bridge saddles, a 3-ply white-black-white pickguard held on with eight phillips-head screws, and the neck would have a rosewood veneer fingerboard with no skunk stripe. They were optionally available with a maple-cap fingerboard, still with no skunk stripe. Either way, the headstock decal would have the "transition" logo.

    Just discovered this thread when surfing the Net for Tele builds.
    Also just realized this is the Gil Yaron that has built (a couple?) of Les Paul - ish guitars for Pete Thorn.
    I have a whole new appreciation.
