I'm lucky enough to own a CS 54 Goldtop which I love.

I's rather have an early Les Paul than an early Tele any day.

You win today. That might be the only LP with a carved top that I might want, if given to me for free :)

Well, they are worth a lot more, but yours is recent, correct?

I have 6 Les Paul's but the oldest is a '72 and the newest is a '92. (I do have a '59 LP Jr). I got 10 Tele's from '56 to '89. I play the Tele's more but am glad to have both. They all get a long fine.

Perfection. Not all Les Pauls are created equal. Some are just thick with mojo!

    I had a 55 gold top in 1980.
Mine had the stop & tuneamatic.
    Great guitar!
    I have a R6 reissue now.
    Also a great guitar!

    Nice.
Buddy of mine has 56 orig. Too heavy for practical gigging, but, I think
I could come up with enough pads to make do.
    lol

This one belongs to a friend - don't remember the year. I liked the profile of the neck so much that I made templates from it and that has become my standard neck shape.
