When it is 112 here in Phoenix, I think of these type of stories. Hot Coffee might give you relief in 10 degrees, but a cold bottle of water is down right refreshing in 112. And my knee caps never jump up and down like a jackhammer. Stay warm kids. Oh please do share what you put on to say, walk to your street curb and back, or to walk the dog in the yard.

Yeah I couldn’t do those temps either. I’m a wimp on cold.

I left the house at 9:30 am to break in some new tires on the Boxster. Top down and 66 F.

Now it’s about 80 F and I just got through washing two cars. I get all kind of wet when I wash; I’m wearing baggies and could have taken my T-shirt off:eek:

Tomato harvest in full swing, Chile peppers too, but those go all year. Can’t grow tomatoes in the summer because they won’t set fruit without a few hours under 80 - and we only get about five minutes below 80 right before dawn.

It’s supposed to be about 42F tomorrow night, which will be one of our coldest nights of the winter. I don’t think we’ve had a temp below 40.

The smart thing to do would be to hunker down and watch the NFL games today but no, I'm driving over 100 miles north to Vermillion, SD to watch the SD college basketball fans root against each other. U. of South Dakota vs South Dakota State. A native American kid plays for SDSU. He transferred from Memphis U. I would've stayed there and played for Penny Hardaway.

Did you know: the speed limit in South Dakota interstates is 80 mph?

this is the neatest place to live, it gets cold for 2 weeks , then it all goes away , melts and adios , we have to have a large snow fall so the water table goes up, the Thompson river will over flow for about a week then it dies down and that may be in june after the high altiude snow melts,
we have snow and cold then spring comes on in a matter of days , mild spring temps up until july then hot for about 3 weeks really hot ( we are semi arrid almost desert) then almost spring/summer temps untill near the end of november , and it starts all over again, perfect for cargo shorts! LOL

yesterday the deer came down onto the back deck to eat what remained of my strawberry plants and stopped to look in the window to say hi, the snow in the back yard is up to harlos shoulders its funny to see him walk through it to lay a poopcycle, he has laid trails to his favorite spots.

It was brutal cold up there in Vermillion, SD today. I had a hard time walking a block from my parking space to the arena. A kid was standing out there directing the parking lot and I felt for him.

The game was pretty much a yawner with USD winning easily. There was a young guy sitting in front of me with his gal. He had a knit cap on and that thing stunk like hell! He must not have washed it for years. I had to move a few seats down to get away from the smell.

just looked at the weather, and it looks as if we will be hopelessly mired in the low to mid sixties for the next ten days. Wednesday is the day momma and I play golf together, 62 degrees F for that day, will wear cargoes for sure. Usually a little warmer out at the golf course than it is here.
