I have the Gunmetal Grey FSR version of this amp that shipped from the factory with G10s instead of Ten 30s. G10s are nice with this amp, but I went with Jupiter 10LCs (50W) and found them just right. Because it was talked about in different circles that this speaker with a 10SC (25W) was righteous I obtained one, OK but did not blow my skirt up real high. To my ear it added some unnecessary fizzy highs. A few months ago I spotted a Jupiter 10LA (Alnico) on Reverb for a reasonable price in “mint” condition so I scooped it up and that is now in there with the 10LC, it works great. The 10LCs are expressive and right for this amp and I would have been totally fine there. The cost of these speakers is quite reasonable. Another speaker brand I use with regularity in my Fenders and related cabs is Fat Jimmy and a couple versions of excellent 10” are offered there. These are made by WGS to these companies specs and are worth the hype. This amp makes the scene at some of our gigs and I play it in a home studio a lot….great amp with reverb and tremelo which requires the foot pedal attached to turn on. I recommend Jupiters speakers without reservation.

I was just looking at the Jensen Neo Tornado Jet 100 today. I’ve never heard anyone talk about them. Thank you very much.
The Jensen Neos, in 12 inch size, are used in both the Tone Master Twin Reverb and Deluxe Reverb. I have the TMDR and use it or the VR for my gigging amps. I'm VERY happy with the sound of Jensen Neo speakers!

Hello, I just purchased a near mint 2013 - 2018, 35w ‘68 Custom Vibrolux Reverb for $840 (I expected to pay $1,000-$1,250 plus shipping). With the money I saved, I am going to upgrade the two Ten-30 Celestion speakers. I’m looking for sparkly/chime high and tight low under 6lb each. I play rock/country/pop punk. I have never made a speaker upgrade so I would very much appreciate some advice.
Thank you.
Consider using bit more money for C10Q RI speakers and the "sweet chimy/sparky sounding range" come wider. C10Q never sound dull and although it is possible to get ratty sounds out of it, to a decree, they are associated to louder vintage sound.

I put Celestion Greenbacks in mine and love them. I've also been using a combination for Greenbacks and V-Types in some amps and love that combo as well.

Does anyone have any experience with

Eminence GA10SC59 10" and

Eminence GA10SC64 10"

What are the characteristics of both?
Similarities/differences?

Thank you.

I have experience with the ceramic verson (SC64), and while I have not played the SC59, it looks like a dead ringer for the old blue frame alnico 10"s, which I love. Both will be snappy with lots of harmonic content and subdued bass, but in a 2x10 I think you'd be fine in that area.

I have a hunch that Mojotone's Anthem speakers are built by Weber to Mojotone's specs. They're C10R style speakers, which Weber used to build but doesn't anymore; I'm guessing that Weber doesn't build anymore because they're selling them all to Mojotone.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it, but I wouldn't underestimate the Mojotone Anthem.

They both have this rolled off high end thing that I initially liked but then didnt after playing them for some time. Might be the felt dust cap. The alnico actually sounds more subdued than the blue frame or 1028k because of that dust cap.
To me the absolutely best new American 10” ceramic speaker is the Fat Jimmy C1025. It sounds damn near identical to a vintage C10q.
Though Im also very intrigued by the new Jupiter 10sa. All of the WGS/Jupiter/Fat Jimmy offerings are where its it at

Here’s some previous discussion from years back:

(For Light & Bright, I’d recommend DV Mark neo speakers. They weigh 3.31 lbs, but I’ve only seen the 12” & 8” sizes sold without a cabinet, so that’s no help here)

I just purchased 2 Celestion Ten 30s for an empty 2x10 cabinet I had. Bought them because they were about half the price of anything else I might want. Actually they sound really good to me. I wanted 2 Eminence 1058s, but they have doubled in price over the last couple of years. I'm satisfied with the sound of the Ten 30s.

This is the way. Call or email CJ and tell him what sorta sound you want. Weber speakers is like having a concierge.

I bought an amp kit from them (a 2x10 Deluxe Reverb) and their 10” speakers are awesome! I got one ceramic and one alnico in it.

Edit: I should add, they have a dizzying array of different cones, light/heavy dope, etc. so surely they can make you an excellent set.

Excellent find! Some people think Celestions in a Fender amp is just inappropriate, or a less than ideal match. I think it's a great idea, I've used cabinets with two 75's, four Greenbacks and four 65's with my Twin and Showman amps and they've never sounded better. they fill in the lower mids that in most Fenders are generally shy with and adding some sparkling upper mids and touch sensitivity. You might just want to leave them in. They are in all fairness fairly inexpensive, so if you really feel you need to "upgrade", try the 10" Greenbacks, which are, incidentally 30 watts. Jensens and Eminence on the other hand can sound okay but almost all have harsh and/or flubby overdrive characteristics.

A few years ago I changed the stock Jensen speaker in a Fender Blues to a Eminence Cannabis Rex and it was like taking cotton out of your ears. They do make a 10" version that weigh 7.3 lbs so it might be worth checking them out. Price around $120.
