Here’s the amp that thought me the lesson about bringing old amps inside before cleaning them outside. Something with more legs than I flew out of the chassis and I can’t find where it went. Anyway I have a load of pics, but I’ll start with this one. The master volume pot that typically breaks on these.

I measured a dead spot along its rotation and decided to open it up to attempt a fix. Seems intentional? Can anyone verify before I spend money on a new pot? Tia![IMG]

    Is this a pull-boost MV?

Surprised you got into it. Thought they were sealed. It should've looked like this (with the green plastic pull-switch housing) if it was original:

That’s the one. Only 4 tabs stand in the way of getting inside. Keep the green side south and you won’t have to guess where the wiper goes lol.

What's on that track? It's kinda multicolor looking.

I thought the UltraLinears were introduced in 1977? Got a serial number there?

My bad, Wally. She’s long gone, son. Been knee deep in nasty Vox restos. Funny how these amps come in waves. Last month was twin reverb season lol. My arms grew an inch and I lost an inch of disc space!

I would be more worried about what that thing was that escaped.

I still remember when I first moved to this old house and went down to the basement laundry room one morning. On the steps coming up was a big old fat bull snake. Freaked me out and I chased it acrossed the basement floor to where it made it under the chest freezer. I had to go to work and didn't have the time to continue the hunt so I let it be.

When I got home, I moved the chest freezer...no snake. Looked around and found nothing. Next morning, there was a nest of bull snakes hiding in my clothes drier.

I don't allow things to get away since then, if they enter the house....they get killed, no exceptions.

No way! No snakes for this guy.

Once that sucker took off, I kept feeling like something was landing on my neck. Damn shirt tag!
