I learnt I should try writing with a bass way more. I come up with different stuff, instead of the same old stuff.
Especially, bass lines / rhythms / grooves with holes in them. Those you can fill with guitar bits. This seems to create a different, more integrated, more ‘composed’...

So, when I occasionally buy a new one, they should be something quite different and maybe even a bit silly (for me). :)

I leant that sticking in a different pickup and playing dress up with a less used guitar that has fallen out of favour because of a new addition can inspire you to play it much more. Thus it becomes useful, not wasteful.
