Bass response sounds mushy on 1978 Fender SF Deluxe Reverb

Hi everyone, I picked up a 1978 Fender Deluxe Reverb at an estate auction about 9 months ago and overall the amp sounds really good with the exception that when the bass is turned up past 3, the amp sounds mushy and the bass is not tight at all. Even with the bass turned up, it doesn’t really...

P90s and What Kind of Cap and Pots?

Currently working on a Mustang 90 build (2 P90s with a 3-way toggle) with some Bootstrap Squeaky Clean soapbars, wondering what pots and cap I should use for emphasis on the mids and lows.

Plexi Build - Polarity of 22nf cap coming from tone stack

Talking about the cap that comes off of the 250k treble pot's wiper, and goes to the PI grid. Which way should the outside foil face? Toward the treble pot, or towards the PI grid? My guess would be outside foil should face the treble pot, but I'm looking for verification. Schematic here:

Why cap from HT fuse to ground in Ceriatone Plexi?

In Ceriatone's layout, there is a 47nf cap from the HT fuse to ground: (link removed) I'm not seeing this on other Plexi schematics I'm looking at. Why is this there? If it's for filtering, then I can't imagine it's adding anything significant to the 32+32uf filter caps that follow shortly...

    Switchable Coupling Cap?

I see a lot of people talking about modding their tweed amps to lower the coupling cap value for a more modern lead sound. I also see a lot of people talking about putting the preamp tube's cathode bypass cap on a switch to get switchable voicings for their amps. Is there any reason I don't see...
