    Abalone Binding (rosette etc)

Does anyone else find abalone tacky looking? I just can't bring myself to enjoy the look of abalone binding, rosette or inlays. I understand aesthetics are subjective, but surely I'm not the only one who feels this way?

Gibson original 50’s j45 or Martin 00018 standard.

I’m torn between two acoustic guitars for my dream setup, but I can really only justify owning one. I’ve played both and genuinely liked them. I know there’s a significant difference in body size, but I’m definitely drawn to the sound of mahogany. I’m hoping for some insight to help point me...

    Takamine EF341 DLX info?

Hello all. I wonder if anyone can help me? I’ve just purchased a Takamine EF341DLX and it’s absolutely stunning. It’s a factory second AAA, and the only fault I can see is a dimple in the finish on the rear. However, the original serial has been “sharpied” and a sticker has been placed over it...

    Godin LR Baggs Acousticaster

I am soon to take possession of a late friend’s Godin Acousticaster. I’m curious if anyone has any experience with them. I played it once, several years ago. As I understand it, it has some sort of snares built into it along with an LR Baggs pickup system. Anyone here familiar with this guitar...

    I’m Having The Best Time

The worship band I joined last year is one the best I’ve ever been on. We generally have four guitar players, (all acoustic), percussion, and electric bass. We’re all in our 60s and been playing for decades. So each one knows enough to listen to the others and try to mix it up so that we’re not...

'Wandering Thoughts', a single from my upcoming acoustic guitar album

'Wandering Thoughts' is a single from an acoustic guitar album i have coming out next month. Slowly this project came about, and i got to record it...

    Martin D28 or 00 28 for jazz

Hello. I am looking at flat top acoustic guitars to play jazz/jam band music. I am a "quality over quantity" type and only own one guitar, a Mule steel tricone. My Mule covers all the bases for me and then some. I would like to own a wood flat top to play jazz and jam on. I will state I am a...

I was hoping... wishing... praying that it would be a playable beginner instrument. Picked it up yesterday...

    Presence of the Lord

One of the first rock super groups to ever come together was Blind Faith back in 1969. Some incredible music came out of that collaboration. Here’s my take on Presence of the Lord, which is a really cool chord progression & song from that album:

Thrift Store find, did I find something worthwhile? MIJ Cimar

I was in a thrift store the other day and came across an interesting dreadnought, the first thing I noticed was a Martin style headstock with no name or logo. One tuner has been replaced. A look in the soundhole showed Cimar No. 750 Made in Japan. Unusual bridge design with large screws at...
