Ironwood is a different tree that seldom gets as large as a locust. Ironwood is harder and even heavier yet, but doesn't grow the girth.

Locust doesn't smell too bad, but oak smells pretty bad like piss.
Locust is very hard to work. You will burn up some blades for sure.
