I agree the grain looks great. My Baja is Desert Sand and I can't see any grain at all, just the thick finish. Great guitar though, I'm lovin' it.

I've bought pickguards from WD Music. They fit like a glove and look great.
I've been told the Custom Shop guitars ship with 10's. Although not officially a Custom Shop guitar, my Custom Shop designed Baja Tele came with 10's.
I've got a Baja that I love although I did change to pickguard to a 3 ply w/b/w one from WD Music. That like extra black accent does the trick for me.
