So it's done and I deliver it on Sunday. This may be the best playing one to date. I'm thinking I need a 30" scale bass.

Not really relevant, but "Gene 6" is now under way :)

Plays well, intonated and all that. Just waiting for a pickguard sheet to arrive.

Strings on. I’ll leave it overnight for the neck to settle and do a setup tomorrow.

Controls in and wired, Pickup on. I managed to put a huge scratch on the scratchguard so I'll have to remake that :/

Weather finally cooperated and I was able to get the rest of the clear on. Currently leveling the frets.

Pinstriper finally got the fake binding done! Gene originally used 'liquid paper' to paint it on himself when he was bored in the hotel room.

I can switch to the KALA U Bass at 20" with no problems.

Wow, won't even make last place this year. I won't have money for strings until next week sometime and I still have to find a local pinstripe dude. before I can put the clear on. To be honest, having it over here made it a lot duller for me.

It's black! Need to find a local pinstriper for the faux binding.

Primer/grainfill in progress. Black goes on next and then I have to find someone who does pinstriping.

It's a sidewinder but a knockoff. As a plus, it has four wire connections so I can split the pickup if I wish.

Almost ready for final sanding and finish (and fret leveling etc.).

Neck pocket cut. Truss rod wheel access carved. Glue the fingerboard on next.
