I just bought these and used it on a neck. Great for the transitions. Still used a Shinto for the bulk removal.
I got one in the works as well. The body is finished, just waiting on some free time to carve the neck.

If I were doing that, I’d thin a piece a maple down to .1, and then laser cut it. Sand a slight bevel on the edges and countersink the screw holes...

I use uv fillers all the time.
Key is thin coats. And remember, if it soaks into wood deeper than light can hit it, it will never cure.

Sim tec has a uv filler (59x1) that dries super fast in sunlight if you don’t want to use solarez.
If you know anyone with a laser cutter, templates are super easy.
We got one at work and now I use it for all my templates on 1/4 MDF....
