Nevermind...I figured it out. A couple of small shims made from playing card stock and it aligned just fine.

Issue resolved. Made some shims from a empty Budweiser can and wrapped them around the shaft of the tuning machine. Perfect fit.

My first guitar was a nylon string classical (still have it), and the string locking method is the only way you'll get those bad boys to stay on...
