I had one of those cables that came with a 62 ri tele custom. The one end was too wide to enter an output jack! I had never heard of that problem...
Zombie but whatever. Foolishly or perhaps wisely flipped the squier and immediatley missed it. Such a good light one! But I won another watch...
Update, just can't stop tweaking. Drilled, wired and mounted a barrel jack supported in a home brew jack plate made from a larger washer. Works fine.
Many of us go through this process all the time! I'm off to trip oversome stuff now.
Turns out the original factory wiring for the tone pot was incorrect. Middle lug wasn't wired to the pot. case. It only took about three sessions...
I have a +- 50's supro lap steel which had a failing direct wired output cable. I have removed it and rewired a new cable direct and everything...
