The ri twin you lifted was prob a 65ri which is around true 65 weight... which is roughly 17 lbs lighter with stock speakers than the 135w twin....

So all in all did they get rid of the typical silver face cheap parts and replace them with decent parts?

This amp was purchased as a 1978 twin reverb from a pawn shop for $500.
That's a question for a peavy guy... they were in it when i bought the amp and i like the sound so by advice of tdpri members i will not change them!
Those are peavy black widow speakers... and it is loud, clean, and super heavy! Like a twin should be! Haha
