A router planer will work as well ,just leave a bit to smooth sand cause it will be a necessity.It's cheap and easy to make as well and takes up...
yup mineral spirits, do it outside , but once you try this you will never go back (unless its winter time) it has a smell to deal with, wax...

Hard to tell from the pic, but I've seen these type of marks occurring in raw wood before. She looks all natural to me :) .
Just give the neck plate area a slant (towards the tuners) say 3/16ths thinner at the end of the body. New feature with 1 less problem.
If all else fails , wipe down with acetone and spray a finish on the rosewood, the smell will be sealed forever.
If you find any holes just build,flat sand and shellac,then fill the holes with epoxie. :)
