For an early whiteguard Tele build-- like 54-55, steel saddles.
Come to think of it the button string tree uses a larger screw-- I think. So there wouldn't be any going back if you did that.
If it were me and it were placed high up on the headstock like an early 50s tele, I'd use a round button string tree.
