FWIW, the Jimmie Vaughan strat is MIM and it's a veneered body.
I would suggest using graph paper--it makes it a lot easier to establish your center line and properly proportion your body shape.

I had that issue, too. But I was able to go in and adjust my printer settings (ie, "custom paper", "best quality") and then the print was top-notch.

I think most have the wound G. I use the GHS flatwounds in 11's and always change out the wound G for a plain G. The wound G is a 22...
