I've never seen a stamp like that before. Do you have more pictures of the guitar?

Playing on the old neck is 70% of the experience of using an old guitar. Swapping it out is not a good idea.
Did you have the frets dressed when...
Leave it right there... looks just fine.
It looks pretty awesome and all stock, from what I can see in the pictures.
Is that actually the case?
I would think left-handed players would be a scarce as the guitars.
Use some good product made for lacquer finishes. Something like Virtuoso or Gibson restoration polish.
It'll clean things up but go carefully...
I had a Jan, 1969 tele with wiring that was yellow, green and orange... and cloth.
I decided to semi-open them for the first time in their 65 or so years!
The unwound string has an extra piece of paper inside the waxed paper...
Here is a scan of some old strings I have.
According to previous posts, the top row envelopes in my pic are from about...
I don't think the '63 on the neck date look right, either. I seems to have been over stamped.
That is a sweet guitar and the finish looks right to me. Did you get it for a decent price?
That's low. The neck alone should be worth around 3k.
Wasn't that owned by Jimmy Bryant at one time?

That is such a shame. Reminds me of this...

This is not a tele, it's a early 70s Precision, but I know someone here can help.
Thanks in advance!
Looks like 2/60 (Feb1960).
All looks great to me.
It has obviously been played a lot by someone and looks rough but is probably a helluva tele.
I'd still sooner have this over a CS one. If his...
Frankly, I think it all looks pretty straight,
Beyond the things he mentions, I see the bridge and saddles and pickguard not being original....
Am I reading this right? You got the tele for $599?
It looks perfectly legit to me. That is were the serial number was located until about '55.
Really nice! Is that finish original? Not that it matters, lovely either way.
