    Owning multiple telecasters

Well, for me, myself, personally... It all started with a couple of nice scraps a neighbor gave to me, and the 'Shutdown Pandemic'... The first 'Tele' was actually an 'Art-Deco' 3/4 scale model of a 'Thinline' with solid Mahogany and Quilted Maple (Hangs in my Studio)... Then, I got serious...

    String Tree "not needed"?

I always use at least one 'Tree' on the 'B & E' strings. I put a few extra winds around the posts to run those thin strings to run them lower. And the #1 reason I use a string tree is to give those strings more contact with the 'Nut' and a more continuity with the other four strings. Just MHO...

Which Pickguard For Sunburst Tele : Black or Tortoise :I Chose Black

Agree, the 'Tortoise' guard goes best with a 'Blond' neck, and 'Black' guard with a 'Rosewood' dark neck. Just MHO... I made one of my 'Partscaster' with a 'Carbon-Fiber' guard, lots of folks lik

What's your opinion on sparkly Telecasters?

    IMHO: I'll take 'Twang' over 'Tinsel' any day. If I had [one] finished in 'Candy Metal Flake', I'd strip it down, identify the wood and consider a re-finish in a natural clear coat for a 'Born-again Tele'... Just saying... Here's what I came up with;

Best way to store a Tele long-term?

A simple 'Thumb Rule'... If you store your guitars in a closet, just don't put them in the 'Attic'... Just watch you plants, if they survive, same thing for your guitars. Guitars need a controlled atmosphere with between at least 45-65 relative humidity. I stored my 1968 Martin D-35 for years...

    Your Telecaster Epiphany

It follows' that old adage; "Less is More". Leo Fender's genius was how he employed his 'Simple-ism' in his creating the 'Esquire' and 'Telecaster' for the entire world to enjoy... No wonder, that the 'Tele' is the most popular electric guitar in the world, today.

    Well, I did it...

As a 'Retired' guy with some limited talent, I turned to 'Tele-Parts' building, during the 'COVID Lock-Down', to give me something to do and feel a sense of 'Accomplishment' out of my time. After building my first, I just couldn't stop. The 'Icon' on the left was #1, I continued with adding the...

Accidentally damaged finish tapping in ferrules, any way to fix?

I've been building Tele-parts for a time and one 'part' I've use before, is a one piece X six 'Chrome Ferrule' through the body fixed anchor. You can find one of those at 'e-Bay', take a look, it will cover up the damage...

Do Fender use higher quality electronic components in their USA-made guitars?

Here's a trick I learned way back in high school (1958) electric shop; 'Twist' the paired wires to break up the 'Noise'... Hummmmmmm>>>>>>>>>>>Gone! If you've got 'Coex' wire, cut it short back near the 'Coil' and solder two wires in place, then twist the two wires... SILENCE, is Golden.

Do Fender use higher quality electronic components in their USA-made guitars?

I most cases, you'll be paying for brand, name and builder. However, 'Buyer be-Ware' and most electrical components are produced in 'Asian Factories'. That's not to say that the parts we purchase are 'Junk', not at all, there's some high quality equipment out there... Price is NOT always an...

    Cheap guitar build ideas?

Same inspiration came to me too, my S/B Tele's come from the local construction 'Waste Bin' sights, when I find some scraps of Yellow Southern Pine 2 X 8. Love the dramatic contrast when I 'Roast' the surface.
