You guys replace your hot water heaters ahead of time? I remember when my last one went bad and it was not fun. I guess give it 20 years and replace no mater what? Prophylactically - as a preventative measure?
This is a brand new speaker and it is very harsh. I have speakers that I have been playing through since the 80s that sound much better. I know Celestion makes a good speaker, especially in a Fender cab, so I thought a break in period would help. I have used the speaker in two gigs.
Thinking of hooking my phone to a guitar cab speaker to break it in. This is a Celestion 80 in a Fender Tweed cab.
Should I run this for a long time? Or is it better to run it loud for a short amount of time?
just for fun — I just ran some delay after my speaker sim in my direct rig and it sounded really good. actually a little warmer than in the loop. i can see why EJ was doing this for awhile. not a bad setup.
i was talking about effects you hear on records, not on a pa board.
I have rarely seen Hendrix with anything other than maybe a wah pedal and maybe a fuzz face on stage and both of those work well in front of amps.
thanks... interesting, most everywhere on the net it says that the SRV "number one" guitar specs for the neck, at the nut were 42 mm. I could have sworn it was 43. I have found that a wider neck makes string bending with heavy gauge strings easier, so again, I assumed the SRV neck was 43 mm...
I saw an EJ video recently where he used a Mackie mixer to mix in his delay - post distortion. He basically takes the microphone feed from his Marshalls and adds an Echoplex in the loop of the mixer, then pipes that sound to the board - which I guess you mention he did in the 90s. There is...
Looking for an SRV neck. I know his necks were wider than the typical fender neck (1 11/16 instead of 1 5/8). Also his frets were really tall. He also had a Paul Ferro board, which would be great, but is not a deal breaker.
I checked the warmoth site. What happened to their inventory?? They...
Yes, that might be true.
I always put a Wah in front of the amp.
I dont really use a lot of chorus, so I suppose you could put it in front of an amp, as long as there was not a lot of distortion from the amp.
I dont think I would put a Wah in an effects loop either - but YMMV.
Yes, the big caveat is dont use the distortion on the amp. If you use time based effects in front of distortion from the amp, the time based effects (delay, reverb, chorus) will get squashed by the distortion in the amp. This is why there is an effects loop in the first place. It puts the...
Looking to sell my vox AC15 but I blew the whafedale speaker in the amp. Looking for a replacement speaker and I cant seem to find any whafedale replacements?????
Any other CHEAP replacements for a Vox AC15. I do not want to put an Celestian Blue in it right before I sell it.
