Does the new site grow on you?

I'm getting used to it, doesn't bother me.

Where can I buy a restored Harmony Sovereign 1260?

I just contacted a person at Stay Gold Guitars about a Baxendale conversion H1260 that they had ready to sell, but at a bit over $1900, as much as I'd like to own it, it's just more than I can pay for one. I'm not willing to buy a 'project Sovereign' at a much lesser initial cost either though...

Anyone learn a second language as an adult?

Definitely. I like to think of it as the manual-shift transmission of language. The 'kids' won't have a clue.

Where can I buy a restored Harmony Sovereign 1260?

I had one in the late 1960's, and want to own one now, but a nice, playable, example.

    Here's thirty-four seconds you'll never get back!

I spent my whole allowance on this thing a while back, so I suppose I should try to play it once in a while...

    Here's thirty-four seconds you'll never get back!

An even shorter, twenty-four second resonator 'noodle', from maybe four years ago.

    Here's thirty-four seconds you'll never get back!

It's strange to hear a dissection of what I'm doing by a listener, mostly because I have almost no conscious awareness of what I'm technically doing while I'm doing it.

Are we guitarists the absolute worst about buying stuff for our stuff? Who is worse than we are?

I have always held the belief that, somewhere, grows a shining, brilliant, mountain of pristine Harley-Davidson factory mufflers. A wondrous place, not unlike the fabled and mythical Elephant's Graveyard, where literal hillocks of gleaming tusk ivory reflect the savannah sun.

    Here's thirty-four seconds you'll never get back!

I stumbled across this little ditty while trying to learn Alice's Restaurant...the right way, but wandered off on a musically related tangent, which often happens....I guess.

    Here's thirty-four seconds you'll never get back!

(Almost) Live, from the driver's seat of MCI motorcoach #2006 (sounds better than 'bus') in the west parking lot of T. Riggs high school in beautiful Pierre, South Dakota...

Are we guitarists the absolute worst about buying stuff for our stuff? Who is worse than we are?

Motorcycle guys are the worst at 'buying stuff for their stuff', at least in my experience.

    Japan and wackiness.

Summarize Your Day With A Picture......

The one on the left is a Retronix model 100... The odd guitar on the right is the prototype of the Marz 6, which was offered in a small production run by Eastwood Guitars several years ago. Mine is the one-off prototype built for me by Marco Krijger in Holland. The gold guitar is the prototype...

    Missing a Package? Look Here!

When I first saw those photos (elsewhere), my first thought was that they were probably taken in Mumbai or maybe someplace in Pakistan. My arrogance precedes me.

    Let's see your watch.

I probably posted this $25 Casio much earlier in this thread, but it's still going strong....

The weight of putting a dog down

Just over a week ago for us, too. Time is a merciful buffer though, never completely, but it takes the immediacy and sharpness out of most of it.

Do You Ever Just Look At Your Guitars?

Our living room wall has most of the stuff to look at. I never play any of these, they just hang there. The crowded little lower level 'music room' is where the players are, and a few more 'lookers' too.

Do You Ever Just Look At Your Guitars?

Of all the guitars I own, around twenty four, the ones that I like to look at the most are the several archtop hollow body and semi-hollow ones that I have.

    Interesting coffee convo this morning....

Not to me. I mix it half and half with the dark Folgers to reduce the total caffeine, and as far as I can tell, it's as good as any coffee I've had, and better than most. When it comes to my coffee, my opinion is the only one that matters, and I'm 'Happy with McCrappy!' :)
