    Neil Young "Barn" Movie!

I never knew if that story was true, but now it's confirmed!

    Neil Young "Barn" Movie!

That's the one! I read it wrong that you laughed at the name of a movie, but it was THIS movie. Different barn. Were you part of the [email protected] mailing list?

    Neil Young "Barn" Movie!

I didn't know there was a film. It was a story I read about Neil. On a mailing list...they had t-shirts made up. Maybe we're talking about two different things?

    Neil Young "Barn" Movie!

Do you recall that story from the 90's?

It's 32 degrees and you're driving on the highway...

I was on a drive a couple months ago. Woke up to a little snow on the ground in the PA mountains. I gassed up the truck and got going. I got to the first bridge which was a little uphill and had some snow on it. At 60mph, when you feel the rear wheels start spinning, it wakes you right up...

    I saw something strange yesterday

My brother is more street smart than me....he says look at the shoes. Nice shoes = scammer. Maybe. 20+ years ago I was going into KFC and a guy stopped me and said "can you help me out with a piece of chicken?" I said no, and he went in and ordered anyhow. I guess I looked like a mark...

    Neil Young "Barn" Movie!

What is the story behind this? I used to be a bigger NY fan than I am now, I guess, and I sort of lost touch with what's gone on.

    PUBLIC ART. I LOVE IT!

There is a new documentary on Showtime or something about rail graffiti and the guys that write it. I really enjoyed it.

Bring and Take, and my children's confusion about those two words

I like those Eagles songs: Bring is Easy, and Bring it to the Limit. Good stuff.

Suggestions for putting a decent “dad band” together?

I'll offer another point.....as people age, they get "set in their ways". If they have been in charge of business, workers, etc. and then retire and expect to "do music" whatever that means, sometimes they might be a bit inflexible. I played with a guy like this recently. Frankly some of the...

Suggestions for putting a decent “dad band” together?

Have you ever employed people? Some folks get along great at the interview, and the first couple of weeks and then their true self comes out. They WANT to be in a band, but DON"T WANT to do the work, etc. You might still like them as a person, but they aren't contribution to the overall...

    Can you dig it.

Sadly, I saw this more leaning towards the Warriors and thinking about how the world (and cities) are today. I expected the thread to get shut down when the mods cracked the code. Glad it's just a sporting event.

Suggestions for putting a decent “dad band” together?

Post up an ad mentioning this. A guy sitting around bored on a conference call might see that and say "yes, this is the situation I'm looking for..." I basically formed my blues jam/dad bad this way. Some days we're actually better than the prior week and sometimes we're at the bottom of...

Suggestions for putting a decent “dad band” together?

Post up an ad with most of what you mention here. Be patient. People are looking at CL or the Facebook local groups. Be clear in what you want. Prepare to do more work than anyone else just to get folks in the door and keep them focused. Most bands fold for lack of commonality in goals...

Can’t stand U2? Nor can Bono

I remember hearing that on the radio. Loved it. Back when if your heard something you better remember it because it'll be a while before you hear it again.

Are we guitarists the absolute worst about buying stuff for our stuff? Who is worse than we are?

Exactly. Look at me in my mismatched kit crushing the hills on the C level group ride. :) Actually that was pre-'vid. I have not been on a group ride in a while. Too much stopping an waiting. And peeing. Peeing is for people that finish.

Are we guitarists the absolute worst about buying stuff for our stuff? Who is worse than we are?

I bought more guitar gear since joining this site than the prior 20 years combined. I didn't know I *needed* all this stuff I didn't know existed.

    My predictions are becoming true.

The kid down the street would show up on front of my place wearing Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd shirts. I'd quiz him to name albums or tracks. He couldn't. It was funny. One time, he came prepared cause he knew the question was coming.

    My predictions are becoming true.

A lot of songs are reintroduced to the younger generate from the singing shows on TV. I asked my 16 year old son of he'd ever heard of Limp Bizkit (he's in the target demo after all if it was still 1999). Nope. Just seemed weird to me.

Are we guitarists the absolute worst about buying stuff for our stuff? Who is worse than we are?

Car people. Gun people. Bike (cycling) people. Motorcycle people.

    The "Shared" Gig

Need to find people of similar skills. Which seems hard in the amateur ranks I've seen song writer circle kind of things. Two or three artists on stage. One plays and sings and the other two patiently sit and wait for their turn. In the case I saw they didn't comp for the person in focus at...
