Led Zep - Since I've Been Loving You [cover & learning]

If your band is into early Led Zeppelin, consider "Baby, I'm Gonna Leave You" or "Whole Lotta Love". It certainly sounds like your singer could pull it off.

Tua Tagovailoa's injury last night was difficult to watch. What were they thinking?

Unfortunately, hired gun "experts" who enrich themselves by routinely prostituting their integrity are part of the scenery here in the U.S. I am a life-long Dolphins fan. When I was a kid, Dolphins QB Bob Griese lived in the neighborhood. He would drive by my house on his way home. We were...

    Lovin’ me some accordion

When I think accordion, I think Weird Al. Here's where it all started. Eat your heart out, Lawrence Welk.

The simplest reason your favorite bands resonate with you : the repetition factor.

Tough to say. I love the Who, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. Each band has its strengths. The Who's run of Tommy (1969) to Who's Next (1971) to Quadrophenia (1973) is to my ears perhaps the best run of any band's musical career. But I also think The Who Sings My Generation (1965) and...

Non traditional covers of famous songs.

The Tourists brought a new vibe to the Dusty Springfield classic. Harry Nilsson's well known version of "Without You" is a definitely a different take from the Badfinger original.

Six Months In A Leaky Boat

My CD of the Split Enz biggest hits has gotten plenty of use. And the music rubbed off on the next generation. My sons got the bug, too. Their respective playlists have the Split Enz classics (I Got You, Six Months in a Leaky Boat, Message to My Girl, I See Red, History Never Repeats, etc.)...

Everyone I Went to High School with Is Dead

I only keep up with three people from my high school. One of is one of my best friends. I've known him since 7th grade. We went to junior high, high school and undergrad together. The other was the girl I had a crush on in 8th grade. It was a mutual thing. We've stayed friends. The third...

    6p14p Reflector tube

I have three quads of the 6P14P-EV variants. My Crate Vintage Club 50 head cooks EL84s. The 6P14P-EV version of this tube has held up well in that head. I'll add that I always run a small fan behind any tube amp and suspect that helps dissipate some of the damaging heat that would otherwise...

    Happy 65th to Glenn Tilbrook

I got to see Squeeze at the Foxx in Atlanta in August of 1985. To this day, one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Glenn is a tremendous talent. Love his vocal and guitar playing skills.

    Crime Songs

The original version is by the Equals deserves recognition. The Bobby Fuller Four version is the gold standard, but I love what the Dead Kennedys did with their version. They definitely brought something different to the party.

    Name Your Favorite Vocalist-Male- Female?

So, I have to ask our Aussie forumites for a little slack. Back at post #44 I went with Steve Marriott as my favorite male vocalist. But I've got to tell you, I feel remiss for not having credited John Farnham, too. Both of those guys sported tremendous pipes. It's a toss up for me. Here...

    Gretsch Club

Some beautiful instruments throughout this thread. I'm glad the Who didn't play Gretsch guitars in the 60s.
