Is it becoming a thing to play shows without bass players now?

because Ray played the basslines on his organ...on albums there sometimes was a bass player

Thoughts on Modeling- IF you use it, what are the pros/cons?

Since I have my Kemper Profiler ("profiled, not modeled") with high quality profiles, my 13 tube amps stay mostly cold, because it sounds like the real thing and I can buy my dream amps for almost nothing with a simple download...this thing is amazing!

Tweak pickup resonant peak with a capacitor?

I'm fan since I had a guitar with P-90s. The bottom end was too mushy, so I changed the tone pot caps and suddenly the pus had a tight low end and sounded great!

Do you play along with albums/backing tracks?

Hazard: but for me, that's the interesting part/exercise of change between original parts and improvising

Do you play along with albums/backing tracks?

How important is it for you as an advanced/semi/pro player to play along with your favourite albums or backing tracks? Did/do you learn something like how to cut through/sit in the mix (eq,panning, guitar tone, effects etc) or right phrasing, improvising etc...?

Is the BOSS RT-20 (Rotary Ensemble) in other BOSS products?

As a Landau fan, the RT-20 has been on my whishlist for years, but it's hard to get one for a decent price (Ebay 180-350$)... As it uses COSM tech, I wonder if I can find the fx in other units, maybe with less parameters, but same basic fx the Me-25,GT-10 etc

New To Modellers, Buying Advice Needed

Believe me,a Kemper is the only thing you need and the closest to a tube amp. I'm a tube snob (13 amps) and also have modelers (Amplifire,BOSS,Vox,Line6 etc.), since I have a Kemper, my tube amps stay cold...I can't believe how real it sounds and feels. And it's "amp wonderland"...just bought...

    I hate job interviews.

it's not the interview itself, it's the 2-3 weeks before it that wrack me...nothing I can do about it as a "head cinema" guy...always a horrible time

When tube production ends one day...

yes, but will there be demand in 50 years? Many tube amps will be around in garages, basements etc. not working ,because no one produces tubes anymore. They maybe will remain in safes of modeling/profiler companies for reference, that also own some machines to produce tubes for their own purpose

When tube production ends one day...

Exactly,a "Nu-tube" ish kit for tube amps with different available voicings (EL34/84 etc)

When tube production ends one day...

...will there be "modelling tube" upgrade kits you can stick in the sockets instead?

Why are IR's better than cab simulation?

but IR*s on stage are another factor that can cause sound problems like overloading the input level (ugly distortion) of your IR loader... There is a reason why many pro players like Bonamassa prefer a Palmer cab sim...set and forget

    Filter-Trons and the like..

me, too...usually I throw out the factory pickups for Duncans etc.and that was also my plan with the blacktops... but damn, they sound so good overdriven and clean...and with a treble bleed, you get tons of great tones, when you dial back the vol. of my fave pickups

Yngwie and the hole 80s Shrapnel records/neo classical shredding thing?

I 've always wondered, where all those 80's "Shrapnel records" Yngwie clones turned up in such a short time... they all played with the same technique (string skipping,3-notes per string picking, sweep picking, arpeggios etc) Is there any article, maybe with interviews...

Why are IR's better than cab simulation?

to be honest, I went back to my Palmer or Behringer cab sims, because they sound more organic, warm and feel better with my amps. Sometimes I mix them with IRs (2notes,Radar etc.)... Somehow IRs have a strange "sponginess" and digital harshness, that I don't like. Maybe I have to go more into...
