    replace hot water heater prophylactically?

My music room is in the basement with my water heater. 13 years and it’s time to replace.

    Happy 76, Dolly Parton

Seems like a great gal. Happy birthday! I just saw the old YouTube clip of her in a local pub in Ireland, sitting in with some guy. She’s the real deal no doubt.

What brand of boots do you wear?

Keen - disposable, but comfortable and functional. 2 years is good enough for me. I've gone through Timberlands, Wolverines, Carhartts, Merrells, North Face and Tony Lamas. I'm too chicken to spring for the big bucks on boots or shoes. Like guitars, I want to try them before I buy them and...

Olympic white tele, thinking about changing the pickguard, what ya got?

3 ply white is MY favorite with that color. @JSMac has a beauty!

    Sleeping

It surprises me when people think everyone should be “like them” I generally get 6, wish I could get 7 or 8. I’m kinda hoping as I get older I’ll ’need’ less, but I’m guessing it’s more like you can get less. My final comment - In the morning I feel like I can get comfortable in any position but...

Love his approach, I've never heard anyone play like him. Great links - thanks fellas.

So, why all the bird hate?

They’re a bit fancy for me, but I’m not a hater.

    Grandparents' cars.

We used to drive to the Jersey shore in our other guitar player’s grandfather’s mid 70s Fleetwood. Parked in someone’s driveway it could sleep 3 comfortably, although the trunk while comfortable could get buggy.

What Is Your Snow Removal Strategy?

Buy a house on the sunny side of the street, clear it off and let the sun help out. Sure I’m old and breaking down, but I ain’t dead yet, and it’s not that hard. Especially with a decent snowblower.

    Question About Bridge Preference

I’m not a builder, but have been playing a Tele for 40+ years. I have a 6 saddle on my old ‘78 Tele, but if I had to get another one, I’d go with a 3 way compensated. I think the stamped plate has a bit of positive tonal impact. I’m not switching out but having thought about it that’s what I’d do.

How many delay pedals do you have/actively use?

2 One at home that I mess around with, and one on the board for 'my band sound'. I enjoy some modulated stereo delays when I'm writing or experimenting, but I just use a hint sometimes with the band.

    At What Age …

I’m reluctant to weigh in on others ‘fashion’ choices. For me, I gotta have some kind of extra layer. For now it’s flannel shirts or hoodies or fleece, depending on the laundry and where I’ve got to be. I gotta wear a hat too these days as my hair seems to have slipped downwards since I hit 60...

    Crowd singing.

I'm on board with that sentiment. If I go see a real singer, I don't want to hear some tone deaf wannabe drowning out the artist I came to see!

    Springsteen sells his music rights

I can see the logic of it. It’s a lot of money. Your heirs don’t have to fight over what “Dad would have wanted” when the advertisers come calling. The decisions and questions and wheeling/dealing about your music are no longer your problem. Let SONY figure it out! Your income is much more...

    Crowd singing.

I always got a kick out of the Crowd versions of Breaking the Laaaaaaw. I seem to recall a better version from Brazil or someplace - but the Priest Fans know their material!

    Old guy but new here

Hey welcome aboard, I’m from nj and worked in Melbourne off and on for parts of a couple of years. Great place, great people. Gear was ex-pensive in the city shops! But the living was great.

    boutique vs. vintage

I'd say it depends on what you want the amp to do. Yeah you'd have to service a SF Fender, but it'll be a workhorse. But no effects loop, and not the best Master Volume (if there is a MV at all) It also depends on if you've got a solid Amp service shop nearby. I'd still be happy enough with an...

Quickest, most affordable way to make two T-style partscasters not redundant.

I’ll second putting a single sized hotter HB into the ‘cheapo’. Buy something used, lil 59, chopper, cavalier lion… it doesn’t take much to make a Tele bridge get rockin’. The hb will overcome any noise from lack of shielding…
