Musicians who use made up first names!

Bono and Edge would have to be my pet dislikes for pseudonyms. Why dey all do it??Okay a nickname here and there but so many. Elvis Costello is a weird one, why use Elvis who had a real name Elvis? Got me mystified.

Meatloaf went all the way last night, paradise, no dashboard light...

He "sang" at our AFL Football Grand final a few years ago. Many wondered why the AFL hired him as it was not the loaf's best performance. Seems he invented a new key to sing in.

    Japan and wackiness.

Not whacky, sensible, especially in a cold climate. I liked it when I visited, I could shave. Just so unusual when you come from hot Australia. Today was a mild day , 32C ( 89.6 C ) . Need to shower early and later in the day. Air- conditioning or perish here.

    The "Shared" Gig

Best band I played in the other guitarist sang and played, so Did I. He's also made a Thinline Telecaster with a Widerange p/up in the neck and a Mighty Mite in the bridge. Ash body ( Mighty Mite ) and wired it himself. In those days MM and Schecter parts were for improving your Fender. That...

    Indiana Jones

What I don't get is Harrison Ford went on to marry that singer in Shanghai who had a screeching , whining voice. I wonder if that lasted. I can't bare that movie because of her. She and I wouldn't last a date.

    The "Shared" Gig

No , not shared time, but I will only share guitar work ala Keith and Ron Woods. Hate the idea of a dominant guitar player and a " rhythm" guitarist.

    Japan and wackiness.

My sister lived and worked in Japan for two years in the 90s. Her small apartment had a heated toilet seat and mirrors in the bathroom. They, her and husband, actually had a bedroom that only fitted a bed but better than a hidden in the wall bed like an ironing board that you pulled out. Wasn't...

44 Years Ago Today - What Was YOUR FIRST CONCERT ?

Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1972, I was 16. John Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford ( Tom Fogerty had left the band). John Fogerty used a Japanese Ibanez ( no label) early 70s lawsuit guitar that sounded as good as any Les Paul. He only used his " Black Beauty" for the encore and it was...

Would you rather be without electricity, or water?

In oz we can get sun power or you can create a water powered generator. We need the water.

    Weird Phone Calls

It happens here in Oz. They ( real estate agents) even ask if it's okay for buyers to do a drive by. It's a nuisance and they just want sales and commissions.

    Netflix Increasing Shareholder Value Again

Yeah they raised it here to just over $20 AUD. I'm disappointed with it and may go to another provider.

    Kelton Swade..R.I.P.

Regardless of what some people seem to think of him , he made good guitars. I believe Keith Urban has a Brownie Telecaster made by Swade after losing several guitars in the Nashville floods. Now Kelton can RIP.

    The stigma of yoga

I found yoga my mid-week relaxation when I worked. Often fell asleep during the meditation at end and was relaxed driving home. BTW i do not carry aa gun ( only Police and certain others do here) and swim about 30+ km. ( 20 miles) a week. No gun toting round here.

Terrible unfortunate accident. Injury. Need some advice.

Sounds like you're a nice guy giving some person a hand. Stupid idea to get involved in what is essentially a commercial contract between repairer and your mother. I don't think you'll be compensated. It was totally wrong of that man to get a bystander involved' He should have had a co-worker...

i m not a huge dire straits fan but...

Best guitar playing on an electric I've ever heard in 55 years of playing. Sultans of Swing made me throw away my picks , sell my 73 telecaster for a Strat. Anyone who can keep up with Chet has got to be good and MK is a lefty.
