Have you ever accidentally tatooed yourself?

Yikes! I have only two stories similar. One I can't tell here and the other was a guy who got held back so many times he was driving himself to Middle School in the 7th or 8th grade. He turned out to be a real punk too.

Have you ever accidentally tatooed yourself?

Same here, but it was the 6th grade. He pretended like it was an 'accident', but later he had similar accidents stabbing other people. His name was Tommy Sears, and that was in 1986. The dark spot faded by the mid-90s but I still feel like I have something in my thigh if I press hard enough...

    Do You Cook?

Some have talked about being an 'experimenter' in the kitchen. I do a bunch of that too, but sometimes also just throw together things that seem like they'd work together. Simmering some kielbasa, sauerkraut, cabbage, carrots, celery and onion. Touch of dill, caraway and parsley. This is...

Random Daily Photos September 2022 Edition

This could turn into a whole discussion, but I agree with you. I have also noticed how jacks, pots, switches are all now a 'wear item' that need to be replaced every so often. Even if you replace them with Switchcraft, Alpha, etc. We can't blame the country that makes all this stuff now...

    NG-F-KD, sort of

Vintage mid-90s RG450dx, no less. That doesn't mean anything to anyone, but I felt like saying it. One of my partscaster goals is to assemble a Floyd-equipped Surf Machine, and pair it up with a home-made tube amp featuring a Fender 6G15-type outboard reverb circuit built into the front-end...

I have one guitar with a Floyd trem: It's actually really great. I can do all the fearless dive bombs and wang wiggelry and it always snaps right back into tune.

A bad carpenter blames his tools...

Thanks for the tip. Yes they are a bit pricey, but again... I like the idea of them being best of both worlds and "you only buy it once".

    The Coasters - Young Blood

I once convinced a surf band I was in to do a cover of Poison Ivy. They were reluctant but it was a blast and everyone loved it.

I'm Happy Just to Dance With You

It's even worse than that. John and George are doing two completely different things that mesh together so well. And the hidden secret in this song is Paul's bassline. On top of that, all three switch hitting harmony vocals, and Ringo doing that rhythm. It's really amazing how much game they...

    Do You Cook?

Careful what you wish for: Last night it was "Well, I have this local Albanian-style sausage, a couple cans of beans, and some onion, a bell pepper, some floppy celery and blushing carrots in the fridge. Guess I'll throw it all into a pot with some of that cabbage that's turning brown and...

A ‘necessity’ at the time but……………..

Oh, you can't build a low watt (or any tube amp) for $70. I was meaning I could have thrown that $70 onto the big pile of cash I was going to have to come up with. That $70 would buy a set of transformers, or a chassis, or maybe the materials to build a cabinet. The rest would require the rest...

    Do You Cook?

Yes and no. I (living alone) started teaching myself how to cook in my 20s. Starting in my 30s I entered a long-term relationship (eventually co-habitating) with a vegetarian. I had to make compromises, but I also had less time to devote to it. We split up and I moved out, and I started...

    What's the Scam?

This is an upgrade from when they used to send you a key. "If the key unlocks the door, the car is yours!" It's super obvious that the key wasn't a real key, but even so those cost money to make. So they've cut costs by giving you a code. It's more "techy" anyway.
