    vintage tuner options

How about a set of Gotoh Locking Vintage Oval Knob Tuners? They are a direct replacement for Vintage tuners, and give the same look, but the string goes thru a hole in the post and gets locked in place. Stew-Mac has them for about $60.00 on their site...

    Steel Saddles vs Brass Saddles

I had put a set of Brass Saddles on one of my Teles, but thought that the lower stings were not sounding as musical as I had expected. I changed out the "E"-"A" saddle to a Steel saddle, and that really brought those strings back to life. All in All, I really like that combination on that...

Dale's "Historically Correct" Spanish Electric set, is NOT compensated. Your "Screamin 59's Intone cutting Edge set" are compensated. When the word "Intone" is in the title, the set is comped.

Any love for the 72 customs? not talking about the RIs

My wife bought me this '73 Custom for my 21st Birthday back in 1974. It's extremely versatile, and was my first ever Fender. The Wide Range Humbucker is "to die for"!! She was only my girlfriend at the time, but I decided that she was a keeper!!! (My Wife and the Tele.)

What is the best bridge for a tele

The Vintage, cheapo, ugly, thin piece-o-crap Bridge Plate that Fender has been putting on the Telecaster since 1951, continues to be the "Best Value" for building the perfect Telecaster sound. This is the sound that we ALL fell in love with and continue to chase every day. This Plate is used as...

    Bridge pickup mounting screw question

Stay away from that Bridge in the lower picture !!! It can only cause you grief !! A Tele Bridge pickup that is turned that way will NOT fit into the pickup route !!

The 3 and 4 hole bridgeplate dilemma

No !! The Ashtray cover is too short to cover everthing, and there isn't anything on the modern Bridge for the cover to clamp on to. On the Vintage Bridge, the Ashtray cover has a friction fit on the upper and lower sidewall flanges to keep it in place.

    Vintage bridge on modern body?

I got this American Standard Conversion Bridge from Bridge Works, complete with compensated Saddles. I had to drill (4) new mounting holes, but it went on perfectly, looks great and sounds incredible. It was very easy to line up using the pickup and the "string thru" holes in the body.
