An elegant new solution for 12-String Tele builds / conversions

Hey, twintwelve...a girl out here in the high desert who's into the car culture scene striped it for me. By the way, I grew up in Adelphi and spent a lot of my youth in Beltsville.

An elegant new solution for 12-String Tele builds / conversions

I'm not sure what Marc would charge for just the saddles. I had him design a bridge to go with them (with the top loader string holes offset to line up with the grooves in the saddles) but I'm sure it would be in line with the pricing of his other parts. Shoot him an email

An elegant new solution for 12-String Tele builds / conversions

Hey, everyone...wanted to share this with the members I recently built a 12-string Tele for a friend and ran into a dilemma I've seen discussed many times on the forum....the bridge. I wanted main string 1st and then drone string ala the Rickenbaker (which ruled out the Gotoh bridge). I also...

Any Forum members out there do inlay work?

Thanks for the suggestions but Scott doesn't really like to do necks and although I would eventually like to learn to do inlay, I don't think I would want to start learning with this project. Thanks again to all!

    Darren Riley

Another satisfied customer here.....ordered a bunch of parts for a 51 P Bass build and he threw in a cool Fender bass tuner keychain. Also let me return some parts that wouldn't fit the project, no questions asked. Good guy.

    jazzmaster worries

I'm building a Jazzmaster for a friend, so I've been researching Jazzmasters extensively lately. The two major problems with vintage Jazzmasters were a) the strings popping out of the saddles and b) string buzz, both caused by the bridge design. It seems that just about everyone who plays...

Open G - benefits of removing the bottom string?

I read an interview with Keith where he said the reason for removing the low E string was that it often collided with the bass. Exactly what bingy said above. It's the same concept you use in mixing when you roll off the bottom end of the guitar that is rubbing against the bass frequencies (mud).

    Reranch tinted clear!

RR tinted clearcoat will look too yellow. It is best used to add an aged look to an existing color or pickguards etc. I recommend following the RR guidelines for doing a neck 1. Shoot a thin layer of clearcoat and let it dry. This will keep the neck amber (from step 2) from penetrating the...

    Blender Pot

I've been experimenting with blender pots on Strats. I've tried Rob's diagram which blends in the bridge pickup, and Fezz's which blends in the neck or bridge depending on the switch setting. Both work great. But in both cases, the blender pot sweep seems backwards and counter-intuitive. In...

    Removing a waterslide decal

What's the best way to remove a waterslide decal that's been applied on top of a nitro finished neck (like they do on the '52 reissue Tele)? Can it be done without damaging the finish or would it likely need some touch up?
