How Do You Feel About the Roland Cube Street EX?

Good quality HBs that I like through other amps. The high end its a bit metallic (perhaps because it has tweeters and needs to serve as a PA rather than a dedicated guitar amp) but I can live with that. But I feel like at anything but low volume indoors it becomes really muddy sounding.

How Do You Feel About the Roland Cube Street EX?

I've had one for about 4 months. I use it with a solid body electric on the clean (not acoustic) channel mostly. I think it sounds fine outdoors & at very low volumes indoors. But at even moderate volume indoors it sounds pretty terrible for some reason. Maybe that's a nitpicking complaint...

Indeed. It was a bad string. Problem solved. Thanks

Had perfectly set up guitar this morning. Changed strings from 11s to 12s & now BUZZZZZZ

My 2014 Epiphone Les Paul Standard was set up perfectly this morning. I took off a set of D’Addario 11 flat wounds & put on a set of D’addario 12 flat wounds. Now the A string buzzes when fretted between the 6th and 16th fret (where the neck joins the body). There's no buzz when the open string...

    Stanford Guitars…anybody?

I know this is quite an old thread but: anybody have any more information about these? Their jazz guitars have nitro finishes and ebony fretboard and go for around 1050 euros new. I've never seen an ebony fretboard on a guitar in this price range. Nor a nitro finish, not that this 2nd is...

Buying Used Peavey Classic 30: What should I Inspect When Trying it Out?

I've only just begun learning about amplifiers & I've never owned a tube amp before. Is there anything in particular I should pay special attention to when I go and try this thing out? Anything that might stand out as a red flag I should look for? Any important questions I should ask the seller...

    Question about reading music

If the Eb is an "accidental" (a sharp, flat, or natural not in the key signature of the piece) then you only play it in this one measure/bar of music. When the next measure begins, you go back to playing E however the key signature indicates it to be played.

    Coil split wiring help

I did the wiring on a guitar for the first time this week & I'm no expert on electricity. Why is it important that you don't touch the wooden cavity wall? I was having problems actually because I had wires hitting the wall & when I organized everything so that the wires were touching nothing but...

Looking for Recommendations on Humbuckers with a Natural, Flat EQ Response

Come to think of it you may be right. I bought the Les Paul back in the day because I thought "Jazz = neck humbucker" but have always been impressed with the sound of single coil guitars when I pick them up now and then. Maybe I need to just get a Squier Affinity of some sort to mess around with...

Looking for Recommendations on Humbuckers with a Natural, Flat EQ Response

Contrary to my name, I’ve never been a tone chasing gear guy until very recently. As a player, I’ve always been far more interested in technique, music theory, learning as much about the fretboard as possible, etc. I’d been playing a 2014 Epiphone Les Paul Standard with “sh1tty” Alnico Classic...

Any reason I couldn't use this as a tone cap in a guitar?

Yes, I actually like the cheapo blue ceramic caps that cost like 40 cents. Because they're so small and lightweight I feel like they are less likely to become loose or move around in there over time if the solder joint is not strong enough, too.

Any reason I couldn't use this as a tone cap in a guitar?

I've seen those, they are very nice as well!

Any reason I couldn't use this as a tone cap in a guitar?

So you can use ANY capacitor in the world inside of a guitar, huh? Interesting.

Any reason I couldn't use this as a tone cap in a guitar?

You know how very ancient prehistoric humans used to create elaborate wall paintings in underground caves that were always in complete darkness & no one could see them unless they somehow managed to bring fire a half a mile deep into the rocks? Well, my guitar is like those sacred caves to me...

Any reason I couldn't use this as a tone cap in a guitar?

Seems like the answer should be yes, but the website lists in them in a different section than "guitar caps" and the description mentions they are good for amps but says nothing about guitars. I want to stick them in a Les Paul with humbuckers. I know I don't NEED 500v caps & they are...

European vendor of CTS metric Pots?

Thanks. But strangely, this place charges 26 euros for shipping to France. My mother lives in America & she's coming to visit next month. Looks like I'm just going to have to make her smuggle me a batch of them from the USA on the plane, haha. Come to think of it, I could probably order a large...

Anyone have experience using "Guitarworks" pots?

My guess is its a rebranded Alpha pot but that's merely a guess. I'm having a hard time finding good metric pots for Asian made guitars here in France. https://www.gear4music.fr/fr/Guitare-and-Basse/Guitarworks-Potentiometre-Volume-500K-Axe-Cannele-Fendu/1BST

European vendor of CTS metric Pots?

The Göldos, from what I understand are made in Japan. I just haven't heard much about them so I'm reluctant to buy them. Unfortunately the shipping costs to France on Uraltone are somehow higher than from the USA. Alpha pots are available on Ali-express for just over 1 euro(!) but ordering from...

European vendor of CTS metric Pots?

The UK was my go to place to order a lot of things that aren't easily available here on the continent ...until Brexit. Now there are customs fees on everything, sadly. I've already spotted relatively hard to find guitars on Reverb.com that I wanted to buy but they were in the UK and the import...

European vendor of CTS metric Pots?

Hi, Apparently CTS now makes these metric sized pots for Asian-made guitars. But not surprisingly, as everything is more readily available in the USA, the only vendor for them I can find is based over there...

Help! Newly Installed Electronics/Pickups. But Now Tone Pots Do Nothing

Everything is grounded except for the wire coming from the tailpiece, but even that I have resting on one of the pots so its touching metal EDIT: even this is grounded now. But nothing changed.

Help! Newly Installed Electronics/Pickups. But Now Tone Pots Do Nothing

Thanks for the tip! I've just noticed (by putting some overdrive into the signal) that the bridge pick up is giving a slightly shaky signal intermittently and the bridge volume pot spins considerably easier than the other 3 pots. So maybe there is something wrong with that pot. Ironically, I...

Help! Newly Installed Electronics/Pickups. But Now Tone Pots Do Nothing

Hi I've never changed pick ups or electronics myself. But I figured: What could go wrong dropping in a pre-wired Epiphone quick connect pre-wired harness & quick connect Probuckers? All I have to do is solder a single ground connection from the bridge to a pot & that's it, right?! Welp, I took...
