Certainly not a big deal, but since the forum update I can't seem to find the "ordered/unordered" list options. I use lists all the time to keep things organized and easy to read.
Here's a fake "ordered list" to ask my questions ;)
1: Do they not exist anymore?
2: Am I missing them...
Well... after two very happy years with a Soundcraft Notepad 12FX it all came crashing to a halt over the past week as the mixer/interface started to become very noisy... even when disconnected from the computer. A wine first appeared, followed by static, and now hiss and rumbles. It was a great...
I don't understand why people are so obsessed with "it doesn't sound identical"... there is zero importance of a modeling amp to sound identical to the tube amp you are comparing it to.
Two tube amps off the assembly line back to back do not sound identical.
In the case of...
To live in a city loaded with great sound techs.
It pains me to read never ending posts about not being able to trust the sound guy. They can certainly make or break a show, but in my circle I rarely have to worry about it and I am thankful for that.
I just finished a whirlwind of shows over...
I'm not talking about amps you own, or have owned... I'm asking about amps you have used as your primary voice while performing.
I'll start...
1980 - 1984: Hiwatt DR-103 (100 Watt) through a home built 1x15 cabinet loaded with a Peavey Black Widow. I played cover bands, top 40, a little metal...
I've always been a fan of old school Marshall tones.... the JTM, Super Lead (plexi), and JMP MV amps. After reading so many positive reviews on the Origin amps and listening to several demo's they looked like a perfect combination of tone, features and money for my needs.
My local stores have...
At less than a third of the cost of a new one, I couldn't resist...
I've already planned out it's future in my setup
Amp sim & Delay for my Pedal Steel. The Fender voicing sounds wonderful with the steel, the reverb and delay are very functional and I can even dial in a decent overdrive...
I've been old school for decades by sticking to stage monitors but over the past 2 - 3 years I've had to go in ears on many gigs/tours. I bought a personal "wired setup" for rehearsals and small venues... while touring acts always provide wireless rigs for the bigger shows... just bring your own...
Clover isn't a household name, but they were one of Mutt Langs first production projects, and they were the band featured on Elvis Costello's debut "My Aim is True". John's guitar track on Alison is still one of my personal favorite cuts.
Despite his later success as a vocalist, Huey played...
Guitar forum or not... I felt this was worth sharing. It seems the RUSH drummer died on Tuesdsay in Santa Monica California. The news was just released today.

This morning (9:00am) I started the car to let it warm up for a few minutes. I came back inside, finished getting ready (about 5 minutes) walked out and found my car.... GONE! Someone stole it!
Away from home I NEVER leave my car running without me in it, but at home I have done this routine...
Snow doesn't usually stick until mid - late November so this is not normal, not even for us. Yesterday we got hit with a storm from the West... right now is a momentary lull in snowfall, but a Colorado low is about to dump another foot on us over the next 24 hours.
Trees are tearing apart from...
Although it's just the first tour, and in it's infancy (two weeks in)... it looks like Mark Knopfler has tucked away his amp collection in favor of a a Kemper.

This will undoubtedly give profiling/modeling...
When the day doesn't get warmer than -30C (-22F) I feel like hibernating.
Our windchill values for the next few days are near -50... absolutely brutal!
Power supply wasn't packed with it but it fired up with batteries and it sort of worked. It's really noisy so I suspect the caps are at their end of life. I'll get those changed out ASAP before using it any further.
I used to travel 48 weeks a year in the 80's.... my sanity in hotel rooms was...
I need your help! The beltpack/transmitter (ST5) has an 1/8" input and the stock cable is a stereo 1/8" to a mono 1/4" (standard guitar).
I need to know how that cable is wired. If you have any way of checking the continuity between the two ends, please let me know.
I've been enjoying the thread: Working Musicians : Who Have You Been The Opening Act For?
Some great background and experiences in there...
Here's a thought... share a great road experience you may have had. Good, bad, doesn't matter - but let's keep it clean ;)
I'll share one to get it...
My HX Effects was tagged for replacement by Line 6 because of a known "noise" issue. Rather than replace the unit, I decided to upgrade to a HELIX LT... an easy decision since I was getting full value for the HX Effects.
Although the HX Effects was great in tandem with my HD500... The Helix LT...
I know, I know, yet another solid state Peavey amp thread :)
Back in the 80's I toured extensively with a Special 130. When my first one was stolen (in Dec '84) I didn't hesitate to replace it with another. Eventually I sold that 2nd one off in the early 90's but I have regretted not keeping...
Came across this on youtube and though I would share. Not the best audio & although he's not playing his '53 here (this is his b-bender tele)... the tele tone and playing is excellent (IMO).
Quick highlights: Check out his solo in Hummingbird at 2:15, the solo in Luxury Liner at 13:20 then...
Hockey is part of most Canadian's DNA... our most recognizable song is more likely to be the "Hockey Night in Canada" theme rather than our own National Anthem.
Yesterday, on route to a playoff game two hours away the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League suffered...
Starting a new club... something extremely rare for me as I am not generally an early adopter.
About 3 weeks ago I picked up the new Line 6 HX Effects.... essentially the "effect only" version of the Helix. I find it to be a very well thought out and versatile unit. 9 Effects at one time, three...
I was scouring the local classifieds and saw an MXR Distortion+ (modern issue) being sold for some pocket change. In my 4 decades of playing I have never given one any consideration but after watching a you tube clip from "Andy - PGS" I realized it held some classic tones that I might like. The...
I like tubes and I like technology... IMO everything can coexist. Sometimes I go direct to FOH with my HD500, sometimes it's a traditional pedal board with my SF Vibrolux, and sometimes a good old reliable SS amp is the choice de jour!
Enter my latest SS addition... a Silverstripe (Black Box)...
