A good friend stepped out of time yesterday

So sorry to hear. It's been 5 years since my best buddy vanished from my life 5 years ago. My deepest condolences on your loss. You handled it the way it should be.

My Mom, my life & TDPRI

We went this route with my MIL 10 years ago. It was a long haul and frustrating at times as she was very cantankerous and hard to get along with, but that's what family does. I commend you on your selfless actions and wish you the best. Stop in and see us when you can, but I, for one...

Self-Proclaimed Best Guitar Players - Who are they?

One thing you can pretty much be sure of; anyone who proclaims themselves to be "the best" isn't.

    Friends, I need some prayers.

Prayers up. I'm also with the "go and visit" camp. I regret like hell wasting 2 years of my regular weekly visits to my mom due to..."that which shall not be mentioned"...and only seeing her a handful of times before she passed in December, although I did call and chat every couple of days. If...

    Absolute Blasphemy

I doubt the general membership here will have any qualms about your build. Very few purists here, and even those that are have no issues with a nicely done partscaster build. Please carry on, and welcome to the forum!

Taste - 'What’s Going On' - Live At The Isle Of Wight Festival 1970

I have what appears to be a boot CD (but was purchased from a legit music store, (filed under "Roy Galagher") that is titled as, and was recorded at My Father's Place, Roslyn NY on 9-7-79 that has the most excellent version of "I Wonder Who" that I ever heard. I've never seen this anywhere else...

Taste - 'What’s Going On' - Live At The Isle Of Wight Festival 1970

The thing about Rory...he mentioned several times that he didn't listen to contemporary music (in his era) because he didn't want to be influenced one way or the other. It's also why he controlled the songwriting, producing and layout of his music as well as refusing to release singles. He...

Taste - 'What’s Going On' - Live At The Isle Of Wight Festival 1970

The Tele was borrowed during the IOW festival and was stolen along with the '61 Strat. Fortunately, both were recovered in a water filled ditch, abandoned by thieves after becoming too hot to handle. The Corvette was purchased by his brother/manager Donal from a pawn shop and became his go-to...

Only got to see him once, during the "Jinx" tour. He did not disappoint. At one point I was less than 10 feet from him while he played "Out on the Western Plain". I was mesmerized.

Yes. Try "Live In Europe" as a starter. If you lean more towards the hard rock side, try "Photo Finish" or "Top Priority". "Stage Struck" is one of the best live compilations IMHO. Take it from there. I honestly can't think of one tune he's done, acoustic or electric, that doesn't knock my socks...
