    Fender HW Twisted Tele pickups

Funny you mention that. I actually decided to raise the neck pickup a bit tonight because the bridge was so relatively loud, and wasn't terribly close to the strings. It sounds much much better...still pretty "modern" compared to what I'm used on the that tele and a CS Jazzmaster, but certainly...

    Fender HW Twisted Tele pickups

Well, I think I'm in a minority...I can't seem to get along with the Twisted Tele neck pickup in a new CS tele. As soon I switch it over there, it sounds like...a really nice modern tele, which isn't my thing. Any recommendations for an accurate broadcaster (or other vintage, e.g., nocaster...

NGD! Vintera 50s Modified Tele and More

I hadn't been playing an electric in years. I got a tele, and now playing electric is all I ever do. We're getting the band back together lol!

60's Baja? Should I? (EDIT: Happy Ending!)

My '50s baja got me excited enough about guitar again to buy a pricey CS tele. I still miss the bridge pickup in that guitar. I wish I'd gotten along better with the neck. It wasn't the girth, it was the shape. I've played bigger U necks since that I had an easier time bonding with. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    CS Tele Yee Haw!

Smart! And you certainly don't need to. A baja tele got me playing enough again to buy the new one. I loved that guitar a lot. I'd still have it if I hadn't come to learn that I prefer a different neck shape.

    CS Tele Yee Haw!

I couldn't agree more! Also, your bar might be pretty high owning real vintage!? :) Until the last year, the CS guitars I played were just very nice guitars, or distressed like jeans or something. I struggle with added fretboard wear. 😬 The tele I ended up with actually feels old. I don't know...

That's a stunner as is IMO!

60's Baja? Should I? (EDIT: Happy Ending!)

They still show up regularly for good prices, all is not lost. The Baja was my gateway electric guitar. I LOVED it, and it singlehandedly got me back into electric guitar after a decade away.

    CS Tele Yee Haw!

Well, there's some truth to that, and some truth to more money than brains, too! :) Falsely critical or not, I hope more and more people that can play them get their hands on guitars like these!

    CS Tele Yee Haw!

I kind of hate NGD threads, but I also want to share the experience since I used to mock the entire CS concept as an embarrassing blues lawyer thing. Maybe 8 months ago I played a CS strat at a local shop on a whim and I didn't want to put it down. I loved it because it was...

How can the Custom Shop get simple things wrong?

Heck, the mint on white is one of my favorites combos...if they didn't do it originally, they should have!...it certainly didn't discourage me from buying my first and only CS tele a '61 reissue:

    New Tele Action question...

Interesting, and thanks to all. I don't like messing with it all the time, and I could absolutely see how humidity could get annoying if it's always on the edge. I think I'll raise it back up a hair. And maybe I'd have gotten use to it, but at 4/64", the action feels delicate to me now and I'm...

    New Tele Action question...

Hello! After saving, I gifted myself a nice tele. I took it to a guy that sets up guitars how I like and he said "Why? This is fine." We both noted that the string height was a little uneven, but the relief was fine. So, I finally got around to it...found my tiny screwdriver, and 45 mins later...

    Baja Tele

This is kind of what prompted the question! I'm doing a lot of bending and I just wondered if certain necks/radii might speed things up. Stringing it with 9's sped it up. :-)

    Baja Tele

Aw heck, when I get back to it I'll get a pic up! It's really just your simple butterscotch black guard maple sort of deal. Classic. You've seen it a million times. :-) Thanks for the advice on the Electrosocket! I didn't explain very well, apologies; with the phase "switch" depressed (button...

    Baja Tele

Hi folks, I found a Baja tele ('50s, I believe) and I've really taken to it. It's reasonably light, the pickups are great, and I REALLY dig the full-forward out of phase bridge sound. The input jacks is one of the always getting loose types, and maybe some more shielding would be good, but...
