My '50s baja got me excited enough about guitar again to buy a pricey CS tele. I still miss the bridge pickup in that guitar. I wish I'd gotten along better with the neck. It wasn't the girth, it was the shape. I've played bigger U necks since that I had an easier time bonding with. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Smart! And you certainly don't need to. A baja tele got me playing enough again to buy the new one. I loved that guitar a lot. I'd still have it if I hadn't come to learn that I prefer a different neck shape.

I couldn't agree more! Also, your bar might be pretty high owning real vintage!? :) Until the last year, the CS guitars I played were just very nice guitars, or distressed like jeans or something. I struggle with added fretboard wear. 😬 The tele I ended up with actually feels old. I don't know...

That's a stunner as is IMO!

They still show up regularly for good prices, all is not lost. The Baja was my gateway electric guitar. I LOVED it, and it singlehandedly got me back into electric guitar after a decade away.

Well, there's some truth to that, and some truth to more money than brains, too! :) Falsely critical or not, I hope more and more people that can play them get their hands on guitars like these!

Hello! After saving, I gifted myself a nice tele. I took it to a guy that sets up guitars how I like and he said "Why? This is fine." We both noted that the string height was a little uneven, but the relief was fine. So, I finally got around to it...found my tiny screwdriver, and 45 mins later...

This is kind of what prompted the question! I'm doing a lot of bending and I just wondered if certain necks/radii might speed things up. Stringing it with 9's sped it up. :-)
