As was stated, WD = Water Displacement.
I’ve read and heard about WD-40 used as a metal lock lubricant- some assert that it collects dust/dirt/etc while others say they’ve never experienced such problems.
I am curious about this new WD product, too.
While the topic is being discussed, any...
It depends on the type of sound that is being sought. In other words, the signal chain for the desired sound.
For example, If you have a BF Fender AB763 amp and are looking for that classic vintage "vibe" pop-rock-traditional country sound from clean to mild breakup and shimmering chimey Fender...
I did gigs playing bass and guitar with the same amp and speaker. A 1977 Music Man HD-130 head with an EVM-15B speaker. Plenty loud for small and moderate sized rooms.
Also… and I don’t recall the actual sources but I do recall the “brouhaha” and follow up study results.
Around 2004-5, a “study” by a “marketing firm” reported that the entire sum of supply chains contributing to the manufacturing of hybrid cars involved more energy expense and CO2 emissions...
You asked for sources. I provided sources.
Of note, these are not the sources I read years ago. In fact, I don’t recall the actual sources but these sources are new to me. But I’ve read this same information several times before.
Both mining companies and oil/natural gas extraction companies...
I read this several years ago from various sources and made mental notes.
In fact, I just googled “Bolivia Lithium.” -this popped up in large bold print:
“Bolivia has the richest known lithium deposits in the world.”
Below is a link to an actual source regarding Bolivia’s lithium.

I bought my Prius new in 2009 (great recession) and got a great deal on it because no one was buying anything; heavily discounted. It has been a GREAT car; between 45 and 50 mpg. Decent space. Only complaint is road noise; I drive radials.
Every Prius and electric vehicle owner with whom I’ve...
Sounds like you've met her before!
You don't want to meet my mother-in-law... Kali stick masters have nothing on her dazzling rolling pin - frying pan wizardry! Imagine Bruce Lee having a child with Mother Jones... on 2nd thought, that's a bit too much. I apologize for any disturbing thoughts...
I usually play a ‘96 MIJ 50th anniversary Tele into a reverb pedal and then into my ’68 Bandmaster plugged into a step down transformer yielding ~ 115-118 VAC.
Its output is usually coursing through a mix of vintage Jensen c12n and p12n speakers (all organ pulls) in a 4x12 closed back cabinet...
Heads up… Norman Rockwell called the police. He and Officer O’Malley are coming over to reclaim his child who went missing right after his doctor’s visit.
Oh yeah, the song is good!!!
I have a D-130F and a D-140. I think they are great speakers, esp. the D130F. Gerst by all accounts understood what he was doing; the speakers are evidence! But the D-140 label, IIFC, says 16 ohms but the DC resistance suggests it is ~ 8 ohms.
The reason I mentioned it was, if my memory is...
Not only the audio magazines.
Harvey Gerst, the designer of the some of JBL's speakers, IIFC, confessed that they published incorrect impedance ratings on a few of their speakers.
You beat me to it! Pogo said this many decades ago!!!
We all make mistakes. Hopefully we can learn from them. Also, try to learn from the mistakes of others; less pain.
A friend and I were up front, standing (back then is was "festival seating") immediately in front of Steve Gaines at a Skynyrd concert back in '77. We got high with a local newspaper photographer as soon as the music started; she even sent us each a couple of pictures of Ronnie and Alan (I gave...
I felt like I was listening to a guy who had a touch of Donald Fagen in his voice being backed by one Michael Franks' early LA studio bands (The Art of Tea or Sleeping Gypsy). That's a great tune!
Yeah! A jazz appreciation course where the history is laid out in a manner that made sense was a great introduction to the landscape of jazz's evolution and who the significant figures were and what they contributed!!! One of the best courses I ever took in college!
Yoshi's (and the old...
Kenny "G" Gorelick played some nice stuff with the early Jeff Lorber Fusion. The cat was a legit musician.
His later stuff was so "saccharine" it, IMO, deserved the "Fuzak" label (Fuzak - a combination of Fusion and Muzak - for the very young, Muzak was the music played in elevators and Dentist...
I agree with Dukex above. If I were you I’d call up Rick Hayes at “Vintage Sound” amps, tell him what you are seeking and ask him to recommend 2 or 3 amp/speaker combinations.
One of the nicest warm jazz tones I ever heard was a Vintage Sound Princeton-type combo amp with a 15” Weber Chicago...
About 6 years ago I first heard this exact word being used. I, too, recoiled!
In fact, I began to make fun of its use by speaking in a faux erudite manner with a British accent, "I am architecting my future by (fill in the blank.)"
Because it was said by a politician's relative I want to...
