Hmm. Pot life is about 10hr once it's mixed. So that could be it.
Mix a little cup of it at the start of the day and wipe it on till your done....

Any ideas what this is? It's water clear and apparently is the same stuff they use to lock in the color on the tops after staining.

I'm a big fan of boiled linseed oil. That offers a historic and moderately protective finish.
